We had a great start to 2026 with a first glimpse of snow for some of our Bears. It was only a very light flurry, so the sledges unfortunately stayed in the shed, but the excitement levels were huge as everyone noticed and ran outside to investigate.
Everyone has been doing very well building independence skills, have your Bears shown you their magic trick they use to put their coats on all by themselves? Luckily, we may not need coats too much longer as the sun is finally making an appearance and spring is well and truly on its way. They’re getting very good at managing their own shoes and socks too, give it a go at home.
We have enjoyed getting out to the park to see daffodils and crocuses beginning to bloom and of course making helicopters from the beautiful blossom on the trees. Our lunch clubbers are excellent tree climbers this year!
Thank you to our families from Hong Kong who came into nursery to celebrate Chinese New Year with us. Jadon’s Mummy helped us to create lanterns to take home which we thoroughly enjoyed showing off our scissor skills to create! Jacie’s Mummy and Daddy brought in beautiful traditional clothing for everyone to try on, even the teachers! They have also kept us informed on different ways to celebrate and reminded us of special dates too.
Finn’s Grandma cooked us a delicious lunch, we loved helping her in the kitchen and of course eating our noodles with chopsticks.
We are very much looking forward to dressing up for World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. We LOVE books and stories at Ready Teddy Go, we enjoy many books every day together in groups. Children can come to nursery dressed as their favourite character from a book, or wear pyjamas if they’d prefer.
The spring term is always exciting as we start to notice changes in the world around us and what a brilliant half term we have ahead of us.
We are looking forward to Mummies coming to nursery on Wednesday 11th March for a special Mothers Day celebration. If any Mummies cannot make it, Grandmothers or other special relatives are also more than welcome to attend.
We are hoping that the Easter Bunny pays us a visit again this year to hide chocolate eggs in our courtyard. We think that the hunt is getting faster every year with our eggcellent egg hunters.
We also have a very special surprise this year for our Big and Little Bears to help to learn all about life cycles. Very soon Manor Farm will be dropping us a very special delivery. We will be hatching our own ducklings from eggs. All children will have plenty of opportunities to handle and play with the ducks, and hopefully teach them to swim too, before they head back off to live a long and lovely life on the farm. We have heard that ducks are very good at lining up to walk around, but don’t think they’ll be quite as good as us at our fire drill practice. Did you know that in January we did our fastest fire drill ever recorded!
We are very good at keeping safe at nursery.
In February, our Big Bears started their very own RTG Safety Super Hero training. So far, they are all passing with flying colours. Not only do they know how to stay safe at home and nursery, but they are also road safety experts and particularly enjoyed sharing their knowledge with the Little Bears on the way to the park one afternoon.
Please check the memo section on Tapestry to see this year’s dates for your diary, including more fun to come in the summer term.
📸Tapestry and Home Learning 📸
Tapestry is an invaluable resource to support nursery and home partnerships to further enhance children’s learning. We use ChatterPictures to share children’s experiences to build on a range of skills including confidence, social skills and making relationships with peers. Please do add ChatterPictures for your children to share in groups with friends. We would love to see more ChatterPictures uploaded of all of your fun and adventures at the weekends and in the holidays.
❤️Fundraising❤️
In June, Miss Golding is going on an adventure. She is going to a place called Khao Lak in Thailand to visit lots of children who live in an orphanage. We have decided to try our best to raise some funds for the children for all of the things that we love at RTG. All funds raised will go towards snacks, school resources, books and every day equipment like nappies and wipes for the children. They need a new school bus to help them to get to and from school, so we can also contribute towards this. To do this, we will be getting outside and walking, scooting, riding bikes, jumping in puddles or rolling down hills as much as possible from 6th-17th April. Lots of our bears do not have a garden at home, which limits their access to the outdoors. We will each pledge to get moving outside for a fortnight and collect sponsors along the way. Mummies and Daddies can help us to share our adventures outdoors on Tapestry to inspire others and share local gems too. We will all be able to log our efforts and Miss Golding will calculate how far we have moved collectively. We hope this fundraiser will do wonders for our well being as well as helping the children at the orphanage. Miss Golding will let our Mummies and Daddies know when the sponsorship page is ready. For the second week (13th-17th April) Miss Golding will be at Rosebery Park every nursery morning at 8.45am, we can meet her there with our grown ups for a morning scoot, run or walk lap of the park before heading to nursery. All funds raised from our efforts will be split 50/50 between the orphanage and the nursery.
🧸Uniform🧸
In September 2025, we made uniform compulsory at Ready Teddy Go. Please ensure that children wear their Ready Teddy Go t-shirts and jumpers to nursery. We have a selection of second hand uniform available for a small donation, please ask if you would like to take a look. If your child has sensory issues with clothing which make wearing uniform difficult, please speak to their Key Person for support. We are always grateful for second hand uniform donations when your child leaves nursery or grows out of their uniform
⭐️ Pom Pom Jar⭐️
At nursery we use our magic habits to help to fill a jar with magic pom poms. When the jar is full, we vote for a treat for everyone to enjoy. Children vote for a whole nursery treat to celebrate their magic together.
Our Magic Habits are:
• We are kind
• We listen to each other
• We try our best
• We look after our nursery
• We stay safe
🍎Snacks 🍎
Thank you for all of your lovely fruit donations so far, this week plums were popular and we are becoming experts at peeling satsumas. All snack donations are shared together, please only provide whole or packaged fruit that can be prepared at nursery. You could also donate crackers or plain breadsticks.
🥗Healthy lunches 🥗 Please remember we have a strict no nuts policy. This includes pesto (pine nuts), and Nutella (hazelnuts). We promote healthy eating at nursery so please support us by providing children with lunch boxes with healthy options only. Swapping from white to wholemeal bread or from flavoured yoghurts to natural yoghurt with fruit and honey can make a huge difference to children’s daily sugar intake and oral health, ready for the tooth fairy to make an appearance. Thank you for all ensuring everyone has healthy lunches to enjoy together. We have some recipe ideas that we have tried and tested on our Home Learning section of Tapestry and here is a link for more information: https://www.nhs.uk/healthier-families/recipes/healthier-lunchboxes/
🌟Wish List🌟 At Ready Teddy Go, we have our very own Amazon Wish list. Thank you all for your generous donations of new and exciting resources for children to enjoy together at nursery so far. It’s a bit like Christmas with so much excitement opening the packages together with your children! We will update our Wish List each term. https://amzn.eu/hlIdl1h
🧸Extra Sessions🧸
We are excited to welcome some new Little Bears to RTG after Easter. If your child is a Big Bear and you would like to add any afternoon sessions to support their transition to school, please email Miss Golding asap. If you would like to increase your Little Bear’s attendance from September, please let us know asap. We have very limited availability and spaces are given on a first come first served basis.
⭐️Attendance⭐️
Please let Miss Golding know via telephone, WhatsApp or email if your child will not be attending a session. Please give the reason your child won’t be attending for our records. If you are running late and arrive after the outside door is closed, please wait until a member of staff comes to let you in so as not to interrupt our planned morning teaching groups.
🧷Nappies🧷
Please ensure you pack a supply of nappies, wipes and nappy sacks in your child’s bag each session, as well as a change (or two) of clothes. If your child is not potty training, if possible we would prefer nappies to be used rather than pull ups please. This would be helpful with a queue of children to change each session. As the weather gets warmer, we have lots more water play, so spares are very important. We have a small amount of spare clothing stored, please make sure any borrowed items are returned clean.
💦Water Bottles💦
Please make sure children bring a named, filled water bottle to each session. We refill bottles when they are empty and encourage lots of drinking to keep everyone hydrated and healthy. Children may tell you that they are a ‘water bottle champion!’
